Adulting wasn’t easy, but Daisy just kept on going. Daichi told her his family was moving back to Mt. Komorebi and invited her to visit “someday.” Their teen romance was never going anywhere, and he still had his senior year to complete before going to university. They parted ways as friends and within a day, a new neighbor had moved in.
The new neighbor looked vaguely familiar to Daisy when she took over some chocolate tummy bomber to greet the new neighbors. Ned was single and had just moved to Willow Creek from–he paused when she asked as though he were unsure. He was in the military career, so she figured he must move around a lot. They discovered they had a love of gardening and outdoors in common, and Daisy invited him to Blossoms and Bait.
On new skill day, the club went to the gym for some hot yoga and then to Greasy Goods where Daisy treated everyone to a salad. She was completely oblivious to the long gazes Ned gave her and enjoyed the time. Besides being cheap, Daisy figured a salad would be a healthy option for a fast-food place. It may have been, but she was violently ill with food poisoning.
At least the restaurant compensated her and she was able to recuperate in bed before starting her dream job: Dirt Digger for Peters Petals and Pods.
Then she caught cold after working outside in the rain. The cold turned into something more serious, and Daisy underwent emergency surgery. Even though she was recovering from surgery on Spooky Day, she still handed out candies to the neighbor kids.
